Draw Tip Tuesday: Ink and Brush (An Urban Sketcher’s Secret)

By

In this week’s Draw Tip Tuesday, Sketchbook Skool co-founder Koosje Koene shares an Urban Sketcher’s secret.

A great trick with a water brush pen and fountain pen ink.

Urban Sketching is drawing on location, rather than from still life, a photo, or your imagination. To get to various places, Urban Sketchers are pros at traveling light. Still, to get the maximum variety of effects, you’d have to bring a lot of art supplies, right?

Not necessarily—and you can be an Urban Sketcher whenever you want, any time, even if you didn’t bring your full travel kit. Koosje shows you how in this video about some tricks she’s learned in her Urban Sketching adventures. Try it, and show us your artwork! Post it online with the hashtag #sbsadrawingaday.

You can learn more about Urban Sketching in our new kourse. This 5-week klass features Lynne Chapman and Nina Johansson, both known around the world for their water coloring and Urban Sketching skills.
